This is a story that made me so incredibly exhilarated.... I will explain WHY later.
First allow me to tell you what happened recently.
I received an email from my marketing agency because I was enquiring about promoting my book "WHEN WORLDS A L I G N" in various publications.
They received word from The New York Times to say that as long as I wanted to be featured in their Book Review section it was all OK...
HOWEVER, if I wanted to be featured in their main newspaper in the Business section, then my Book and my website was in their words..
"The cover (when revealed on the website linked) is too risque." The New York Times
Therefore, they would NOT be featuring it!
MY REACTION
I thought I would have been really disappointed, but instead I felt this sense of EXHILARATION well up from deep within my core.... and I KNEW without a shadow of doubt that this Challenge was going to bring me the BIGGEST and Most SUCCESSFUL and Lucrative NEW OPPORTUNITY... One I was Not even aware of yet!
I replied by letting them know that it was "Their Loss and My Gain" AND pointed out how HYPOCRITICAL the New York Times was being, since the Editorial department that deemed my Book "Too Risque" have on soooo many occasions written and published articles about Shamans and Witchcraft and the Occult.
These are just a few I found doing a quick search!
Not to mention the litany of New York Times BEST SELLER listed Fiction books that ARE all ABOUT Sorcery!!!
Here are two from the same author BOTH New York Times Best Sellers :)
"The Lost Apothecary" about an old time "Witch" who dispenses poison so her female customers may kill their husbands! AND "The London Seance Society" all about Mediums, murder and Seances and speaking with the dead! In fact I even speak about one these latest Books INSIDE my Book!!!
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE IN MY BOOK?
It's A REAL-LIFE TALE, the TRUTH while the others are FICTION therefore deemed "SAFE" to feature and give accolades.
These writers are in fact writing about my everyday!!!
However my book that details my everyday is "Too Risqué" BECAUSE IT'S REAL!!!
Furthermore, I am actually empowering my clients to Enhance their lives and businesses instead of destroying them as in these works of fiction that are acceptable to society.
Let me be clear, I am thrilled for all authors and writers who do receive credit, the point I'm making is that society Values Fiction OVER THE TRUTH OR REAL LIVE EXPERIENCES..... isn't that Interesting not to mention a little warped?
Here's the MOST CRAZIEST PART OF THIS STORY...
The Ignorance and Hypocrisy of large media publications to NOT understand their OWN Readers BAFFLES me.
Because, here's the Incredibly HUMOUROUS part of this tale....
The Business Leaders who READ The New York Times ARE also Readers of My Book AND are My Clients!!!
I was seriously in fits of giggles at the IRONY of how RIDICULOUS the situation was.
MORAL OF THE STORY...
I have come to understand the energetics behind a challenge such as this is a "call to uncover the Diamond" hidden within it.
Also making "Lemonade out of lemons" is something of an art-form I have perfected over the years.
Besides, Every major milestone in my Business that has propelled me to gain HUGE momentum and Growth and Success has come from events such as this!
WHAT'S HAPPENED SINCE?
By the way, since I wrote this article the amount of emails and messages I have received from clients all over the globe has been amazing.
They are appalled at how such a BIG publication, can make such a HUGE blunder And of course I've had overwhelming support because I've turned a challenge into amazing opportunities.
